Today, Monday Aug. 23, was the official start to our school year! Last night when we went to bed the ‘new’ school room was all set up and ready for the first day! Our day begins at 8 AM with greetings and breakfast. Then we split for our morning routine (get ready for the day, make our beds and brush our teeth) and meet back at 9 AM for calendar time. Thanks to the wonderful calendar that I created using the ideas from a few of my favorite blogging mommies, our morning time is LOVED by all (see below for pics and links)! Really, the kids Love it and so do I! It really starts our morning out right! Next we have prayer time and then we head into the school room to begin our day. B1 then heads for work box #1 (calendar workbook). I felt it was important for him to have a notebook to keep track of our school days, calendar days, weather, birthdays, and all those teeth he is loosing! ;) B2 has her own work boxes full of fun activities! She was so excited to start school although she wants to sit next to brother and have the same work as he does! This is very challenging and I hope she gets used to having her own '”school” soon and gains a little independence this year!
So as we make our way through our first official week I will try to learn more about Blogging so I can keep up and post pictures, links, and ideas often! Join my blog, post comments, and keep checking back!

Blessings! :)

MUFFIN TIN MONDAY

I LOVE this idea! At first I thought no way can I keep up with that, but I have to tell you we all look forward to Muffin Tin Monday! The kids get so excited to see what they get and for me it’s a great start to the week and gives us all something to look forward to! I admit there are some extra special ideas out there and maybe each week I will get more and more creative. The idea itself is fun and serving the kids their muffin tins is so much fun!! You can find all the information and ideas here!
